そんな中で、静かに聴いていた前プロスポーツ協会会長の森喜朗先生が、静かに話しを切り出した。 　「もっと根本的な問題を考えてよ。　日本にプロレス団体がスタートして50年間、協調してこなかったんでしょ！　プロスポーツ協会も退会したままだし。　私は、理由を知ってますが、とてもここではいえませんが、つまるところプロスポーツか興行か、どっちなんだ！と。　・・・そういうことです。　現在では、統一された協会もない、コミッショナーもいない、最低限のルールさえない。　興行であってスポーツではないという見解じゃないんですか、皆さんは。　本当にそれで良いんですか？　だったらわざわざ馳クンが文部科学省を呼んでこんな議題で話し合いをする必要もない。　でも、先ほど発言していて涙まで流した橋本君じゃないが、多くの国民の夢とロマンを受け止めての業界でしょ。　危険を競い合って何でもやっていいってモンじゃないでしょ！　ファンを不安にさせて良いんですか！」 　と、手厳しくも、核心をついたお話しをしてくださる。

　普通、総理経験者がこういう平場の部会に出てきて発言することはないのだが、永田町きってのプロレスファンである森先生とすれば、黙っていられなかったのだろう。
